Just stumbled upon a German knifemaker that I have never heard of... Reinhard Müller. I was intrigued by a production "MSP" lockback folder with full stainless steel liners, sans pocket clip, two-hand opening, leaf green G-10 scales, and a 3" CPM S90V blade--all for around $170 CDN (or $128 USD.) Apparently, the OEM is an unidentified manufacturer from Maniago, Italy (and I've had nothing but good luck with knives made there.)

Yeah, I clicked the 'buy now' button. Should be here in a few days and I'll be sure to post my thoughts and some pics!:)

I've found a few older threads about Reinhard Müller knives (see below*) but just wanted to bring the name back to the top for fresh discussion/awareness...

I do apologise to the few who may have taken an interest; I completely forgot about this thread...

Anyway, I did receive a Reinhard Müller MSP lockback folder a while ago. Good knife. Chunky little beggar, thick and heavy (solid ss liners,) but well-built and very comfortable in hand. IMO, this is an excellent tool box, kit, or vehicle knife. I reckon it's like a tanky locking sodbuster. Good value for someone looking for a more obscure but affordable collection piece in S90V or a solid work knife!

Brett, I have the same model in red. Its a very well built knife, for sure. I see this knife being carried by one of those fellas that has a bowie hanging from his belt.
And has this as a back up,for cutting his chewing tobacco and skinning squirrels. :p Just kidding,if this was the only knife I owned,it would be well used, its a great all arounder.

Just that you know.. according to different sources those knives aren't made in Germany at all, certainly not made by Reinhard Mueller and he is completely intransparent about where they are made and who makes them. Couldn't answer a straight question.. just ignored it.

I had one, wasn't happy, sold it, no regrets. After my experience I wouldn't buy another one even if I really wanted one..

You want some MSP Linerlock.. Oh wait.. these are sold by a knife maker in Luxembourg.. made from N690.

Reinhard Muller is a great custom knife maker with excellent products. Some of his knives ,which he designed, production models were build in EU.I bought few of his MSP backlockss and they are great all around users.Cheers.

Only downside I've seen with his knives are that they are a bit blocky and the steel isn't ran that hard. He uses a lot of moderately exotic steels, being able to get a super steel for around $100. Not bad at all if you like a traditional pattern.

That's a real beauty my friend. Looks like, with the seizure of one had openers at the border this style of knife may be an alternative.
