I hope all had as great a Christmas day as I did. I have a CaseXX 5265SAB, and on the clip blade I have scratches on one side of the blade, it's original finish is highly polished. They are not that deep but I can feel them with my finger nail. A once over with Flitz did not remove the scratches. What would you learned and experienced restorers do??? Thanks. Mike:confused:

Probably put it on a hard felt wheel with green polishing compound.

If they're very fine scratches, you might be able to remove them with Flitz and 0000 "Final Finish" steel wool.

Send it to a learned and experienced restorer who has a felt wheel.
Or, buy a felt wheel and compound and try it yourself.

Well Golly Gee Whillikers, Bill. Wherever would he find a person like that?

Just teasing.

Jewelers Rouge. I used it to get a mirror polish once. If the scratches are too deep for the red compound, start with green, then go red. Use a piece of cloth, or thin leather. Avoid the Dremel.

If you can feel the scratches with your fingernail, then they are pretty deep. To remove them, it will require removing steel until the blade is at the depth that the scratches are.

I think if they are not too noticeable, I would leave them there.
