Reputable Lipstick Knife??

I can't second the 'aggressively pursue police and legal actions' part enough. If you have it on record, that is a HUGE help.
 
Like this: Get an old lipstick tube take out the lipstick. Get an exacto blade and sharpen it. Take a hot glue gun and fill the tube with hot glue stick the blade tang in and presto you have one.
 
Get her a big can of pepper spray like the one "dog the bounty hunter" uses. It is a verry scarry looking can.

To only scare someone, I think a stun gun would be affective, and it would look better in court than a knife would. Also, if the person in question just goes a little too far but not worth stabbing said person, a stun guns damage isn't permanent like a knife or as painful as pepper spray. I would wait till the last possible moment to use a knife against someone and I would hesitate to spray someone unless they were a direct threat against my or my families life, but I would not hesitate to pull out my stun gun if I feel threatened. Also, you can carry both pepper spray and stun gun and just leave the knife for edc use.
 
If an untrained person is using a knife for self-defense, then the first time your opponent knows that you have a knife better be after they are bleeding (preferably badly). Knives are not magic wands (any more than guns are). If you threaten to use a knife, then you better have the skill, strength and personal determination to follow through or you are likely to find your self on the wrong end of the blade, with an even angrier attacker. Pepper sprays allow you to keep distance between you and the attacker, which is the way you want it.

I agree with the pursuing the Police to make sure that it is on record.And stay on the POLICE!!! I also agree with the pepper spray thing, as well as taking a self defense class. May I also suggest that she takes some firearms classes from a Certified instructor!
I would advise against a knife for self defense; as she would have to get way too close to her attacker. THAT and the fact that she has NO training for using a knife in SD; that would be a dangerous situation.
 
If you pull, or sugest to someone else, that they pull a knife to 'scare' somone then your setting up a murder.
KNives are LEATHAL FORCE- if you can stab somone then you can SHOOT them.
If you draw a knife then be ready to explain to a court why you felt it was OK to kill this person...and most courts dont accept 'he was scary...' as a valid excuse.
If you draw a knife then you had better be ready to use it- otehrwise you will only make the other person angry- they will take the knife and cut you up.
'Tactical' knives are a marketing myth- you can stick somone pretty good with even a cheepo chinese knife. Most of the concealed knives will only get you into leagl trouble.
If your worried about somone a) call the cops, and make sure they NOTE it. and B) get a CCW and a gun. If you cant legaly carry a gun go for good pepper, a defence class and mabye an impact weapon like a baton or somthing.
Getting a knife for self defence will either instill false confidence and get the user cut up/dead or land the user in PRISON where they can learn knife fighting from the pros....

If they can tie you then they could have killed you already.
Better try and escape or take them out fo action BEFORE that happens.
If they tie you why not search you too, (or just beat out cold)
Why not carry a pocket knife anyway, as a tool?

All That aside, get three Heavy duty cable ties and daisy cain them through each other then pull ALL THREE tight, with hands behind your back you'd be pretty hard put to cut yourself free even with a razor blade placed into your fingers.... Try it some time with a freind you trust to get you out.

Knives are not good 'first choice' civillian weapons!
They are great tools.

Its' not for me its for the lady. I dont think most women can put up a viable defense except screeming for help. Most attackers of women want one thing from a women. She can keep the lipstick cause it makes her look pretty then when he isn't looking...
 
There's actually more legislation around these kinds of knives than guns. Too bad you're in california. Otherwise, I'd suggest getting her a ccw, a purse gun, and some training on how to use it.
 
Of course i am assuming the women has no training in self defense. If she has training in self defense then she should fight her attacker and never give up. A lipstick knife is a last ditch effort.
