I receive from my father my grandfather's neat little leather handled 3” Ka-Bar fixed blade with original leather Ka-Bar sheath that has a home made leather lace retainer strap. The tang stamp I think puts it from the late 1930’s - early 1940’s but can any confirm that and privide me the name of this model and the type of blade steel? It looks stainless but I believe it may be some kind of carbon steel because with some gentle passes on the SharpmakerIMG_5856.jpeg at 40 inclusive it got a razor edge fast and easy. Any info anyone can provide on this cool little Ka-Bar would be much appreciated. Thank you

Your knife is a "Little Trading Post". It was made 1948-1952, probably 1950-52 by the spacers. Yes, it is carbon steel.
