Hi,I just bought a 10" damascus bowie with a nasty looking handle fitted and the no name maker didn`t take care in finishing the blade .Its been etched then he polished the spine and it looks as though he buffed the brass hilt on the blade so you can see a shiny line .
I am going to rehandle it but would like to know the best way to re-etch and finish the blade.I will post before and after pic`s once its done.

Did you buy it on ebay by any chance Richard? I posted a thread about a Damascus blade I bought there a couple of weeks back.

I got this acid stuff from radio shack to etch the knifes i made a few years ago.You just soak the blade in it but I forget what it is called.
