Round 2 JK test blade beat down

What a drag! I hope you find it.

But, I have to say that the fact that the blade went AWOL only adds to its legend. Now we will never really know (and therefore, will always be able to speculate about) its limits. It's kind of like having the hero of a film take all the punishment the bad guys could throw at him, and then quietly walk off into the sunset.

Years from now, super-durable blades will be compared to the legend of the j williams ditch knife - a blade so tough that it refused to be owned by any man.
:D

All the best,

- Mike

Good post, Mike!

Doc

It was like the movie Shane.:D

In fact...If I find it, I will name it Shane.

Or Chuck Norris.

figured Id bump this one up from the depths too so other guys can see what else the blade stood up to.

man this was fun.

Yeah, I didnt have a vise or anything so I dont know how it hit, I think it knicked it. Thats a tough shot. I was shocked though when I found that little piece of the copper jacket though.

Nice working putting that blade through hell, I'm sure it's a confidance booster for both JK and his customers. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on safety though. Please, I beg you, do not, shoot jacketed ammunition at steel if you can help it. Some guy that wasn't aware of the dangers came out to the range we were firing at one day and started shooting jacketed ammo at some steel gongs about 25m out. One of the guys a little down the line caught the shrapnel in his cheek, just below his shooting glasses. Didn't know the man so I'm not sure how things turned out for him but he was hurting.

yeah its long gone........:(

Man, this is the first time I have been on this forum! I came here from a link JK put up on his forum, and this has been a good read! A SAD read but, a good information one anyway!

I really felt for you though, when I found out you lost this knife and the way you lost it, because I have done the same kind of crap myself! You have to be thinking all the time! When I have my gear out, or my tools, or anything I really cherish, I ususally go around five or six times, and look to make sure that I have all my stuff in one sock, before I leave there anymore! Now, I am getting so old that I have to make lists of things to take, so I don't forget anything, and then when I'm finished with what I was doing out with my gear to start with, I just reverse my movement, and check my list again to make sure I take everything back with me to get home with it all in tacked!

Buddy, that was a good knife, and you will never forget it, and you'll never quit kicking yourself in the butt over it! But, if nothing else you'll always have a story to tell about the JK that got away!

Take care, stay safe, and always be looking, who knows you might be headed out to the farm one day, and just see a glint from the sun on that JK!
