Well, I've never seen anything like that... I will try to translate as much as possible about these pieces of art.

Here's one to try.
Author: Sergei Danilin (Tula, Russia).
Knife: Izubr.

If I understood it right, this knife is made in 1999 and since then is exibited in the national museum. Not for sale...

I doubt if any of these will ever have a price tag.

Here is another one

Author: Kopylov Gennady (Moscow)
Knife: Chertopolokh (Thistle), 1998

After some checking, I found an art studio which sells this kind of stuff. Any model they sell is highly customizable and each product is unique. Prices range from $1000 to 10K. Not for an average guy...

Hi everyone!

I just want to tell you smth about Practica workshop, Zlatoust - I bought one knife from them as a Christmas present (they offered a good holiday prices - now I guess it is over). I took this risk - and I succeeded!
Guys, it is not just a knife - it is a MIRACLE!!! I look on it all the time, I touch it all the time, I even sleep with it! Damascus blade is exellent, knife is perfectly balanced, engraving is amazing.
Now I have ordered from them another knife, a "working horse" - just for hunting, without golden decorations, becouse it's a pity to use such a beautiful piece that I have for work.
Also I've ordered a hunter's dagger for my Dad - Big Hunter. For his anniversary. If it's of interest, I'll tell you more about the articles when I'll get them.

Thank you for the great posts, I´m very interested in the Russian custom knife scene. Any good place except the Zlatoust shop where one could buy Russian knives?

This knife from russian workshop BASKO was named The knife of the year 2000 on IWA International Award. Does it mean nothing?!

You can go directly to Basko and bid for the Bear as shown starting at 12K...

I would warn about customs clearance: some of the items can be considered as items of art and/or weapons and prohibited for export from Russia. The rules are stretchable and the final word is always of the customs officer. The good thing about art studio Practica is that they sell knives already moved to Geneva.
