Gday from Downunder,
im hoping that somebody here can help me identify an SAK i purchased
earlier today.
The colour , liner locks and blade stamp are not something ive seen before.
It has the folllowing
Liner locking main blade stamped "Victorinox Switzerland Stainless" on the "nail nick" side , and stamped "DE-GM 9305279 " on the back (??)
Olive Drab scales
Liner locking large flat screwdriver/bottleopener
Sawblade
Small flat screwdriver/can opener
Awl
Corkscrew
Lanyard ring
Toothpick and Tweezers
(it also came in a Victorinox leather sheath)

Thanks in advance
Best
Peter

I would say it is a Forester, but I could be wrong

Sounds like a "Forester" Hmm... does it have the logo like the one on the German Issue Knife in the pic or OD scales with a V'nox logo?

Dutch army issue victorinox fits that blade stamping(DE-GM)and (victorinox/switzerland/stainless) and general description.but doesnt have the toothpick and tweesers.a variation of the DAK............ or the "Centurian" may be what you have, which is the civy "DAK"
Here is mine.

with dutch issue sheath

the DE-GM marking

Thanks for all the help guys
The pics below are of the knife in question:
OD scales with a standard Victorinox logo

well yeah, with the cork screw rather than the philips screwdriver...a Forester it is..the current ones have black scales instead of green

The Victorinox Forester (Swiss/international model # 0.8363.3) normally comes with matte black nylon handles.

So the Olive Drab handles could hint at this being a special (military?) issue.
The DE-GM stamping also hints at either Dutch or German military.

However please bear these in mind -

It is pretty simple to change handles on SAKs -
so the Olive Drab handles could have been replacements
(for example the Vic Hunter comes with OD handles as one color option).
It seems strange to me that any other country (than Switzerland) would issue a military knife with a Swiss Cross.

Victorinox have also been known to use blades from various military runs in knives that were not military issues -
a good example is the year stamped blades that are normally found on the Victorinox Soldier (the issue knife for the Swiss military) are sometimes found in other "Pioneer" series knives such as the similar Pioneer, Farmer and other models.

A quick note on the DE GM 9305297 inscription:

One of the guys at British Blades contacted Victorinox and got this reply:
"It's the term of our German registered design of the looking mechanism:

DE: Deutschland / Germany

GM: Gebrauchsmuster / registered design

9305297: number"

Many thanks to Jim_W of British Blades for finding out for us.

When the liner lock saks first came out they were all green,I have a green handled "Trailmaster"(though the box was simply marked Military),bought new in eastern Canada in 95'or 96'.
