SAK plastic part separated from metal

The plastic has partially separated from the metal on my SAK classic. It is stil somewhat intact on both ends but there is a gap in between Will SAK fix this if I send this in?
What are the chances that they will send me a brand new one instead of fixing it?
 
SAK is not a company. If it's a Victorinox or Wenger, I've heard that they offer awesome customer service. But if you're in the US, the shipping costs would probably not justify sending it in, especially if it's one of the cheaper models.
 
If the SAK is a Victorinox knife they WILL fix this.

This is a not uncommon problem with the SAK that has grown older with time or has been through a lot of work. It is something that with Victorinox IS covered on their lifetime warranty.
