I was wondering what grit sand paper I can use in lieu of the diamond rods, because I need to re profile an edge. From what I understand, you can tape the sandpaper on top of the the rods and use them as a guide. I hope to buy the diamond rods soon, but for now this will have to do. (If it works).:)

I would start with 320/400 to start with. You should find after you rebevel "so to speak" you will be able to keep the knife sharp with the stock ceramics. Make sure you use the sharppy trick so you can know when your at the edge.

I usually start at 320, but I have gone down into the 200's.

I don;t think you want to "reprofile" Troy, you probably just wnat ot "rebevel". :D

haha, thats what I meant to say. I'm still a little unfamiliar with the terms. I'm learning though.

Thanks, Stretch!
Of COARSE that was bothering me.....
