Anyone know what Scagle sheaths are like? Did he make pouch sheaths or sewn all around? What kind of leather? Any embellishment typical?

Thanks for any ideas,

Dave

Well, i saw some original Scagel sheaths on different pictures. They were all made from dark, thick leather. Mostly pouch sheaths, but not wraparounds, but from 2 pieces. Several had no belt loop but just two cuts in the longer back leather slab of the sheath. Most were sewn and riveted together. Lots of rivets sometimes. Some have decoration in the form of repoussé work and/or leather lacing.

Dr. Lucie wrote an article in Knives 97 starts on page 7. It has pictures of sheaths and all kinds of his stuff.

Ha! I turned in my chair and pulled down Knives 97 and voila! Wish I'd remembered that sooner, I would at least have spelled his name right.

Thanks very much, gents.
