Does anyone have or know
Where I can find a complete list of what was scrimed on the Schrade sharp finger SC502 knifes. I have 81-ram, 82-cougar, 85- fawn, 86-raccoon, 87-polar bear, 88- pheasant, 89-coon hunt, 91-beagle, 92-big horn, 93-buck, 94- elk, 95-antelop, 96-moose. I assume they go up to 2004 when the factory shut down? Since 04 they are Chinese and all have the deer scene? I know there is, prong horn, bear, ducks, hunter which I havent dated yet! Missing what's on, 83,84,90, and 97 through 2004? Got to be a list out there somewhere. They did different scenes on different type knifes, but I am primarily interested in the Sharpfinger. Some of these are bringing close to $150 on E-bay for a relatively cheap made knife. Everything about them is fake, but I love the way they look and feel and it's good old carbon steel. Appreciate any help.

WOW, no one out there has any idea? I am surprised, first time I ever asked a question on this site. Ow-well Schrade probably made more knives than Case, Buck, and Camillus put together?

Dunno, I had a Sharp Finger back in the late 70's..

Hi Roger --

This is what I have from going thru forums here and the catalogs on Collectors-of-Schrade-r-Us
Subjects are how I have them listed - may be "officially" listed otherwise

Besides 1993, I think there may be other years where there were 2 sets
The regular Scrimshaw set and the "Great American Outdoors" set

Enjoy Collecting Them!!

G'Day, Levine's Guide To Knives 4th Edition, Page 166 depicts a comprehensive list of every Schrade Scrimshaw of the Great American Outdoors with Year Dates, Types of Animals Birds,Fish etc, and every Schrade Pattern knife they appeared on....IMO his 4th Edition is a "must have" for every serious knife collector... I don't think that one was a production issue by Schrade, but rather a special factory order for a group or event, like Sturgis. The above list is fairly comprehensive as far as Schrade factory issues, but SFO's are out there that have never been listed. Perhaps Larry or Eric can dig up some internal factory memo on the ordering of your knife. Meanwhile, please share a picture of it with us!

I leafed through the SFO Schrade USA list in Levines 4th Edition and did not see one with a motorcycle and that slogan, but came up empty.

I get a match with a Harley Davidson enthusiasts book,

Ride Free Forever: Legend of Harley Davidson by Dieter Rebmann, Oluf Fritz Zierl circa 1998.

Perhaps the publisher, author or promotor had these made in a limited quantity to go along with the release of the book. But a lot of bikers, including a MC based Christian ministry, seem to have adopted the "Ride Free Forever" slogan. Maybe they originated it.

Here is another motorcycle related issue I just missed on Ebay. A custom Sharpfinger 502SC for the 1993 Sturgis rally.
