Scissors as EDC?

Maybe the Schrade Tough Chip?
It's scissors are larger than the Micra's and it still folds into a small package.

Good luck,
Allen.

My wife and I have a set of Maxi-Snips by Cannon Sports. You know, a scissors bent like a bandage scissors that is often depicted cutting a penny in two. They advertise for about 4 bucks, but you can often pick them out at Wallies for about $1.50 if you look.

We have been kicking the sheepdip out of them for about eight years. We even cut a chicken in two. (It was dead and cooked, you pervs!)

They are a little big to carry, but cheap enough to buy mutiple sets and leave them at home, in your car and at your office.

I have a Schrade Tough Chip. Nice idea and design, and all the other tools seem to work well.
Unfortunately, the scissors don't work well. If what you're cutting puts up any resistance, the blades start to twist apart instead of cutting. (I don't know whether I am describing this well; imagine tugging one of the blades off to the side so that you get some space between the blades near the pivot.)

Glockman's suggestion of a Super micra has some very real
useful merit for the EMT's of the world. I know from writing
Leatherman that the changes to the supertool wer a result of
request from customers ( lots of EMT's I'd guess) to change
the supertool to make it friedlier to the needs of an EMT.

A Super micra with specific tools an EMT would need might
be well recieved by that market. If you'er an EMT / police
or fireman consider writing to leatherman with your idea's
to let them know what you would need to make your
emergency work safer and quicker. I'm sure they'll
listen if enough write them.

and i'm sure there'd be other people that would have a use for a pocket tool with full size scissors. hey i like a knife as much as the next guy but sometimes a pair of scissors just cuts better.

I work as a "telephone man" I guess you would say. Most of us carry klien lineman scissors which we use for splicing. They are the toughest pair of scissors I have ever seen. You can cut a penny in half and it won't even hurt the scissors.
