Looking for opinions on this knife and sheath, Seeking rough vintage, make/origin etc. Fairly crude construction but blade is sturdy and sharp as all get out. Brass guard is a little loose but secure. Leather handle scales with the brass plates and rivets are interesting. Thanks for any insight!

It looks hand-made to me, most likely a one-of-a-kind. I can only estimate the age, starting at around 80 years.
I would agree. That patina can indicate an uncertain timespan. The same of that deterioration of the leather.

Can you tell us:
When you got it?
Where did you get it?
Who owned/stored it before you?

It’s been in my family collection for probably 30+ years, originally acquired by my father. I don’t have any provenance beyond that.

Nice thin stock.

Yes it is quite thin and feels surprisingly strong despite its crude appearance. Holds a very nice edge.
