Seeking smaller version of a MT LCC >>

I figure if anyone would know, it'd be you guys. I'm looking for a new folder, something along the lines of the Microtech LCC or the Microtech Terzuola (aesthetically speaking) with the carbon fiber handles & titanium bolsters combination. The only problem with the LCC is that its just too big (for me). I don't mind spending a couple hundred bucks for a quality knife, I just haven't found something I really like.

The LCC seemed like the perfect knife until I finally handled one at a knife show today and found it just too big. I liked the action, the blade shape and its ergonomics but something in the 3" blade size would suit me much better. Can you folks recommend some folders that I can take a look at? thanks.

Patrick, you might want to check out Greg Lightfoot's site. Microtech made the LCC bigger than the original that Greg makes. It's more like a couple couple hundred bucks, though.

His LCC is here.

you could also look at William Henry knives. Not exactly the standard CF/titanium bolster look, but pretty cool nonetheless. The blades are 3.625" but the knives are much sleeker than the LCC:

also, have you seen this posted on the "for sale custom" forum?

And you should DEFINITELY check out Charles Marlowe's website, as a CF fiend you will be in knifepuppy heaven (bolsters are SS but you might get him to do titanium, I dunno):

Thanks Arcanum, the custom version of the LCC is a beauty! And a great size as well. Thanks for the tip.

My pleasure, Patrick -- I'm about to call Greg tomorrow to order one for myself! The 5-month wait noted on his site is accurate, he said, but with a $100 deposit you can get the ball rolling....

Actually, now I'm torn between the LCC and one of his other designs.

I have allways though that the CF Delica reminded me of a smaller, thinner LCC.

Patrick: Although I can't fathom anyone wanting a smaller LCC, as it is the smallest knife I EDC, I have a great knife for you. Go to this page: http://www.edcknives.com/products.html. About halfway down is a Charles Marlowe Slimline. Unbeatable quality at that price, carbon fiber scales and sized just right for you at 7-1/4" open.

Klesk, thanks a bunch for the Marlowe suggestion! That seems like the perfect knife size. I'm about to go looking around for info on Charles Marlowe, any info you care to share about the maker? Thanks again.

Sorry, can't help you much beyond Mr. Marlowe's web site: http://www.marloweknives.com/ and the fact that he has a section in the Knifemaker Area of US-you-know-who. :D I hope you find something cool!

do a search on Marlow here on the forums, and you will hear nothing but praise. Smooth action, solid fit & finish, and SUPER sharp is what they say.
