Search didn’t yield desired results so pardon this noob if this topic has been beat to death 🤓

just starting to build my collection and am in search of titanium framelocks that ‘ping’ an oh-so-satisfying, almost bell-like sound.

My use of (all but 2 user) knives is purely for entertainment, fidgeting and obsession so performance isn’t really key. Looking for models midtech or prod that have a pronounced metal on metal or maybe described as a ‘satisfying’ ting/ping

FTR, my zt0562 was a chonker and a big hunk of ti but just doesn’t have that pronounced ping to it nor is the Lionsteel Rok G I just acquired.

Come to think of it, Ti framelocks are what I have in mind but open to anything else that’s notable in the sound dept.

Help me find my next acquisition! Or if you have one, let’s see it and maybe save yourself an exchange post!

Try a kizer cormorant all-ti. It has a very distinct sound.

I actually like the clink from a balisong, no framelock's gonna beat that.

I don't buy knives for their sound.
Appreciate your $0.02 and value add!

Winterblade Factor if you can get one.
I was dead set on one. Then I started researching and it seems like batch 1 and maybe 2 had some magnet issues which prevented them from reliably firing. Also thought I’d read that the magnets were glued on and kinda janky (could be making that up). Not much of an early adopter so thought I’d wait and see if the design matures

great call on the frag ti cormorant and it’s on my list. If you’ve got one for sale,☝️ this ☝️ guy’s buyin.

Bali wise- too illegal to carry here in CA and I just don’t have the time or patience to learn. Maybe one day

Anyone mention the Ultratech? It is definitely noisy, and I know they are illegal a lot of places, but it’s something u could fidget with & use around the house

The lockup on a spyderco RIL Military has a nice solid “clunk” to it. So does the liner lock to be honest. To me a ringing noise would mean something was vibrating. And something vibrating would be a problem.

I like my knives when they are sharp...
But I'm not referring to their tonal qualities!
As you should and I concur! But Ppl like different things that can be obscure to others.

That would be a problem and I’m not referring to any sort of vibration. Maybe I’m not articulating it properly but there’s a certain ping on knives like the factor and cormorant mentioned above that’s oh so satisfying to me.

Not necessarily in that order, but the Chaves really hits fairly hard.

ZT 308
ZT 0801, if you can find one
Some CRK’s but not all , so be careful if you go that route
Definitely a Spyderco Military
Older Strider’s

If you have $15,000 (better make it $20,000) lying around you could get a Michael Raymond!
