Sharpened swedge?

Scott, have you ever done a knife with a sharpened swedge like the Ka-BAR?

I'm thinking that a tusker with a 5-6" blade and a sharpened swedge would make a great fighting/utility knife.

I've never tried it because I feel it compromises point strength. Maybe I'll try it on a test blade and run some tests.
