Hi I am looking for recommendations for a carbon steel, made in the USA, sharpfinger styled knife. I don’t want a new schrade sharpfinger because of the cheap overseas steel. I don’t want a vintage schrade sharpfinger because I want a user and don’t want to use or pay for a collectible. Are there any makers that make a quality replica? Thank you.

I own this one from Bill Akers (Backwoods Custom Knives)( https://www.instagram.com/p/CDJc53fhgsL/ ) He mainly works in 1095/15N damascus but does work with carbon mono steels (52100, 1095 etc) as well if you want more of a "user" feel. IMO there's nothing wrong with using his damascus.

I own pieces from GL Drew, but not in the style you are looking for, and will vouch for his workmanship.

I don't know what you budget is but I have typically paid between $200-$350 for damascus pieces from Bill, and I know some of his work can go higher, but I would expect a little less for mono steel. GL Drew is probably a bit more affordable, his work seems to range $120-$200

Any maker that will make you a quality rendition of the Sharpfinger will likely charge you far more than picking up a vintage one on the Bay or here.

The USA made units are around, used ones are of course more affordable, but you can get an unused vintage one pretty handily.

I've found my end-all be-all hunting knife for the rest of my days... but if I hadn't I'd be grabbing a vintage Sharpfinger. They're awesome.

Hell, I still might have to get one.

Ryan Weeks makes the Ankle Biter in a high carbon stainless (AEB-H).
