Hi guys, I made a video review of the Silky Big Boy 2000 XL that I'd like to share with you guys and get your thoughts on. I personally feel in love with it. I've used several others: Bahco, Fiskars, and some other brands you can get at home improvement stores. Man this thing cuts through wood like a laser! The weight isn't too bad at all considering how well it cuts.

I've taken it backpacking and we had a ton on fun making firewood. I used the Silky and my Junglas. I'm sorry but I don't have that particular Silky/Junglas tag team footage in the video review.

So weird I have same one and it was sitting just collecting dust till my neighbor was cutting thick branches of his tree and i just needed an excuse to put it to work.

Here is a weird comparison. He was using an electric DeWalt Reciprocating Saw and me my Silky. Well by the time he cut one piece i was able to cut 2-3 times more brances of same thickness. 2-3 inch thick branches took me i think 3-4 pulls. My neighbor was like what the hell is this when he tried it. Could not believe how easy and quick it.

Was contemplating about selling it since it never gets any use but after that performance its a keeper for sure.

Awesome story! I bet that it wasn't only faster but more fun too! When I took it backpacking, we used it to saw down standing dead trees and the best part was finding fatwood! Thanks for sharing that neat story!

I bought a PocketBoy a few years ago, and I was impressed with how easily it cuts.

Nice video review, by the way.

Can this be found at an actual store? Walmart says they have them, but must be online only. Looks like Amazon is the only way to get one...

I got it on amazon. Have you tried looking at a place like tractor supply?

Knifecenter carries the Silkys. They're a dealer here and have a good supply of them. If you need a walk-in store I think Home Depot carries them as well.

Negative on Tractor Supply and Home Depot. No hits on searching Menard's web site. Will have to go online I guess...

That's the only way I have gotten Silky saws. Both the site of the women warriors and the big auction site have large selections.

I've really enjoyed my Silky bigboy XL 2000. I've had similar experiences to everyone here. I had to order online since none of the stores near me carry them. I think my Lowe's carries Corona and Fiskars, but that's it. Really any time I need outdoor gear that's highly rated, I need to go online.

I've impressed a couple neighbors doing yard work. I had some big maple limbs fall in a storm and my neighbor and I were working together to get one off his garage. He couldn't get the flow of cutting just on the pull, so I handed him the saw less and less.

I had used a laplander for years and was really happy with it, but with the blade length and tooth size of the Silky, I prefer it for most everything.

Has anyone here used a bigboy 2000 XL and a standard bigboy? Does the curve of the 2000 make a noticeable difference?

Just FYI if you are looking for Silky saws the only stores that are likely to have them in stock are arborist supply shops.

Nice video OP. Cabela's carries the 2000xl in store.

I'm on my second BigBoy and second blade. Amazing saw.

Here's my pack saw collection. The Silky is best of breed IMO.

The only downside here is the cost of replacement blades. The Boreal 21 is next on my list.
