Hi guys,
just playing around today with some small sebs. One is the 21 pimped by peter_r with an orange g-10 scale, the other is a limited edition 2008 satinwood inlay.
I had previously rebevelled the limited edition on a sharpmaker (http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=726065) to 30 degrees inclusive but wasn't happy with getting it sharp, which was due to the fact that I had to polish the entire edge every time I wanted to touch it up. I didn't really take my time the first time, so there were still scratch patterns on the the edge of the coarser grits.
So today I put a microbevel of 40 degrees on it with the sharpmaker (fine 40 times both sides, then ultra fine (about 60-80) then took it to the strop and amused myself with the knife and the strop in the sun. It's very sharp again
For those who didn't know already, s30V takes a long time to sharpen correctly when starting from scratch, it's a hard steel.
So I just took some pics since it's great weather here and it's always a good idea to post some pictures here..
enjoy guys!
