"Snapshot WIP"-10 1/4 Inch Walrus/Damascus Dogbone Bowie for Jim Treacy

Thanks to all you guys for your interest and the kind comments. Thanks again to Jim. The collectors are the ones who let us makers do our thing!

Now, back to the shop...

John

Man O Man John, This one came out nice to say the least. Thanks for letting me in the door to snoop around. I like your methods and style of construction. This is my kind of thread.

Just a spectacular piece of art. John is the real deal and this is an outstanding example of his work. I had the pleasure of seeing this up close in Arkansas and was at a loss for words. Jim you are quite fortunate to have this in your collection, congratulations.

Jon

John, thanks for linking this from your other thread. I haqdn't seen it before and I'm pleased that I have now. Amazing work.

Stew,

Thanks for bringing this thread back to life.

I hadn't looked at this thread in over 2 years. I almost forgot how much work that John put into this knife which was his first Dogbone Bowie.

He really seems to have mastered making Dogbones!

I might as well post my 3rd professional photo of this knife, I had Coop shoot one, John had Chuck Ward shoot another great photo and Eric Eggly took this photo after John won "Best Damascus" at the 2010 Blade Show.

I wish that I had 3 John White Dogbones instead of 3 photos of my 1 John White Dogbone.

Jim,

I've said this before, but it bears repeating. It was your custom order for a type knife I'd not made, a Dogbone, that gave me a new challenge.

Thanks again to you as a collector, from me as a maker.

John

You know, with a little practice this guy could be good. :D

Of course Mr. White your work is beyond amazing. It is truly a gift that you, and others like you, share these W.I.P. threads with us. It gives great insight into the pride, dedication and mastery of your processes. It is both inspiring and demoralizing, mostly inspiring. Thanks.
