Hi guys,

I've finally decided on the SOG Powerlock but Im confused about the coating. What's the difference between Black Oxide and Gold TiNi? Will the coatings wear off in a few years? Etc?

Also, what about the tools? It says that the tools can be changed accordingly and I was wondering if anyone here has a link to where a list of tools can be provided? Or something. The search option refuses to work today and yesterday. Worked day before yesterday though.

Appreciate any help.

Hi again,

I downloaded the online brochure and found out that the black oxide is there for low reflectivity and just that as opposed to the silver which would attract alot of heat on your especially if you were in the field.

The Gold Titanium Nitride coating gives you extreme hardness, extremely scratch and peel resistant and will most probably allow the tool to last longer :p

I have one in the black coating, and while I expected it would wear poorly, it's actually held up well, with no wear-through spots anywhere.
