0.8mm - 2oz birdsall natural veg tan kangaroo leather on 0.250" float glass with magnetic bottom.
I cut the glass from a large sheet of 1/4" float glass with a self oiling glass cutter, I sanded all edges smooth and then buffed with several compounds on a buffing wheel. I attached the kangaroo leather with 3m 950 industrial double sided tape, it's very thin and extremely strong. Lastly I added 30mil magnetic sheeting to the bottom, it's permanently attached and is quite strong (stays in place while stropping). The kangaroo hide used is very clean and dense (very little give) and makes for an excellent stropping surface bare or with cbn or diamond abrasives.
