Sometimes this happens

I have some knives that will do that a lot, even cutting through potatoes! I have a Tanaka Blue #2 Kurouchi nakiri with a wildebeast bone handle on it (bone handle is SUPER heavy). I stopped using it because it does this every time I sharpen it for a few weeks until it dulls a bit. Thin blade, heavy handle, even gentle cuts do it. One of these days I may remove the bone handle, but I tried knocking it off and started to split the Micarta ferrule. JB Kwik Weld is strong stuff!
 
Nobody wants to know where I got my zero grav cutting board?
 
Yeah I guess that slipped my mind.
 
My new EDC is sorely lacking a patina.
