My two Spartan's, and probably not my last. The SHF has been hogging my pocket for about 4 or 5 months now. It just works for what I need it to do. It's sharp, comfortable (if a bit hard on the angles), and super reliable. If you forced me to land some place in the middle of nowhere and made me choose one folder to carry, this would be it.
The Ares may be my favorite illogical/impractical fixed blade to carry. I have lots of belt knives that I leave at home because I find them bulky. I have lots of fixed blade that would make fine back up/self defense tools yet that stick out like a sore thumb wherever I wear them on my body. None of them walk the line of being thin yet substantial, sharp yet durable, stabby yet slices and slashes well, AND can be worn IWB deep carry on a bit of paracord and forgotten about for HOURS on end.
I have CRK's, I have a Hinderer, etc.,so why do I think I need one of these, too?!! No, no, no, no... The temptation is strong, but the wallet is light. Sigh.
