What's a flash batch? Unannounced?

Here's a direct quote from the 2017 Spyderco Product Guide:

"A Flash Batch is similar to a Sprint Run, but features a brand new design that has not been previously produced. Flash Batches are also unique, one-time-only expressions of a particular model, but are likely to be even more rare and collectible than Sprint Runs. Spyderco is proud to offer these exclusive, limited-edition production runs to celebrate the diversity of our designs and stimulate even greater collector interest in our knives. Each Flash Batch knife will be individually numbered for the entire run."​

Really REALLY digging the Shaman, but it says it's derived from the Native 5, sooooo why go with S30V over S35VN? Give me S35VN or something else other than S30V.
