Spyderco uk pen knife.

But going back on point (lol), the UKPK looks great, and I think I will buy one soon. I have no problem with slip joints. I often carry a Case Peanut, and of course I also carry a SAK. I think the appeal of the UKPK is that it is a slip joint in a really modern package. Very unique knife, and very cool.

Dragonfly . . . Especially the ZDP-189 version.
One of the very first "Tactical":p high quality  knives that I ever bought before coming to this forum. It is a super knife.
If I had to give it a demerit I would tell others it isn't that great as a fidget knife.
I don't fidget so it is top shelf for me.
I'm not saying better than the UKPK; actually I prefer to not have the back lock and to just be able to close the knife with my thumb against the back of the blade at the jimping as I can the UKPK . . . it's SO Good !

I have recently got an UKPK and it is a great slipjoint
For classic tasks at the office I think I prefer it over the Delica

It is fully legal and very sheeple friendly

I like the leaf shape blade a lot, I may have to give a try to the chaparral at some point

I would rank :
1. Chaparral - better of both worlds :)
2. UKPK - legal one hand opening with choil
3. Delica - classic and great ergos

Maybe it is because I am from Germany - a country that restricts one hand opening locking knives - but I'd absolutely go for the Chaparrel/ Delica if it were legal to carry those here. While you won't need a lock for a lot of EDC tasks it won't hurt to have one.

Again, I have no doubt the UKPK is a great knife. Like I said, I wouldn't mind buying one for myself. But if legal restrictions don't apply, my personal choice would be the Delica. And for a little more money, the Chaparral. The Chaparral, especially the FRN version, is basically the Delica 5. It's very similar to the Delica but with improvements, mainly in adding the forward finger choil. To this day, I still don't understand why they haven't added the choil to the Delica 4. There is already an area below the blade that they could easily convert to a 50/50 choil like they have on almost all of their other knives. A Delica with a forward choil would be virtually a perfect knife for me. That being said, the Delica is and always will be one of my favorites, and is a hall-of-famer for sure.

Sorry didn't understand that you wanted a comparative opinion between the UKPK and Delica.

I don't own (and have never owned) a Delica. So, I really have no opinion in that regard other than, like the UKPK, the Delica is too small a knife for me to want to carry or use.

If you like the Delica better than the UKPK, then I think the matter is decided.

Hmmm. Here's my takeaway. If I had to choose between the Delica and the UKPK, I would pick the Delica every day of the week. That being said, as I've said many times in this thread, I think the UKPK seems great and I will probably pick one up.

As for size, I believe the UKPK has a 3 inch blade. That's not much longer than the Delica.

On a final note, you have said you have never owned a Delica. That needs to be remedied ASAP! :D You will love it.

Great knife, it feels a lot like the Caly 3 in hand.

Nah, totally different knifes. :confused::D

I have the UKPK and delica, you can't go wrong with either. the choil on the UK makes it pretty stable to use.
I lean more to the delica probably cause I have more than 1 variation:)

Sorry, no. The Delica has never held any appeal to me.

I currently own over 90 Spydercos and the closest thing that I have to a Delica is an Persistence. Never carry/use it. Just bought because it was a cheap addition to create a 3 knife set, including the Resilience and Tenacious which are knives that I prefer far more.

There are a lot of smaller 3" knives (give or take a fraction) in my collection but "to carry" I prefer knives in the 3.5-4" range and the Delica simply doesn't qualify.

Among my favorite Spydercos currently are the Pattada, Chokwe, Tropen, Amalgam, Advocate, G10 Lum Tanto, LionSpy, Manix2, Military, Police, One Hundred Pacer, K2, Gayle Bradley 1, Starmate, Vallotton and a vintage Endura and a vintage LW Wayne Goodard.

So, I trust you can see why I'd never buy a Delica.
