A particularly beautiful salyani here. Polished finish, copper Hardware and a stacked leather handle. This is an older style of khukuri called a Hanshee, larger, skinnier and with a lot more curve to it. Unlike many later khukuris these really were dedicated fighters and often had geometries that just wouldn't hold up to survival use.

Making a curved handle with a stacked leather technique is very difficult- there's a reason it isn't seen more often.

At the same time though it really elevates the build and ensures it fits the khukuri style rather than being a western handle stuck onto a nepali blade style.

Specs on this blade-
15.5″: 5mm spine at bolster, 415g with a 5.5″ handle. Point of Balance is ~5″ from bolster.

Impressive and unique. I like the pattern you stamped into the blade, how exactly did you do all that? Looks like there are also some copper layers in the handle, a nice touch. What type of leather did you use?

Forgot to watch the thread upon creation- sorry guys.

You're right about the copper layers- we only have access to water buffalo leather in nepal as cow products are illegal for religious reasons (hinduism). It struggles in some tooling applications but is great for something like this.
This engraving pattern is composed out of a series of smaller stamps- if you look at it closely maybe you can pick how many different stamps are used to make this pattern :)

yeah absolutely- particular in Nepal where so many materials aren't accessible you'd expect to see a lot more of it.
