Starter 3-Person Tent for Light Backpacking Under $100?

Is the Seedhouse easy to set up? Or especially hard? That thing is ultralight for sure.. The Eureka and these are definitely top on my list now.

I'm a big Eureka fan..I have a three man and a two man model and both have kept me high and dry on several outings..The local box store runs sales in the spring..You'll save a bunch if you pick up last years model but they usually go quick..CD

I don't think you will find much except ozark and Coleman unless your willing to go used. Sometimes you can find some great stuff on craigslist, I always check there once in a while and see some nice gear cheap. But I'm afraid that if you want something that is a quality tent your looking at spending a bit more. If you do go with a Coleman or ozark I would reccomend while at the store buying it pick up a couple cans of water proofed and a tube of seem sealer. Make sure you seal all seems on the rain fly and the tent (usually on Coleman's the rainfly doesnt go to the ground) then put a good two coats of water proof spray on the inside and outside of the rainfly sealing in the seams really good. I've have a lot of people I take on guided trips who are just starting out camping and they get a Coleman or ozark and the first rain storm that comes in and their gear is floating in the bottom LOL.
If you can get together a couple hundred REI makes some great tents that are 3 season but I've used mine in serious cold and some rough storms and it had no troubles at all. Big Agnes also makes some good ones I've seen hold up to some really rough times in the elements
