112 brass frame... is that a cutlery rosewood handle?

A 112 with brass and rosewood, with whatever type of blade that is? It would be pretty, but nothing too special there.

Yep, and I don't know beans about manufacturing, but, I would imagine that Buck's profit from these limited runs is limited(see what I did?😜), if compared to the regular 110 production and profit. Buck produced over a million 110s in 2010. I don't think this run of Slim Elites couldn't match that, profit wise, even at 50% profit.
Anyway, I'm glad to pay it for a unique knife that will carry and use well.

Oh, absolutely! It's going to be a great knife, and it's a really good idea to boot. I hope Buck follows through with other models. If I was as big a fan of 110s as I am of the 112, I'd have no problem at all with this price tag. There are exceptions of course, but for the last several years, I've been trying to limit my knife purchases to ones that are going to get used. And I don't think this one fits that bill.

The benefit of the Federal is its overall petite size compared to a standard 110.

Also remember that the Federal has a thinner blade.

Congrats GP,you're the first!

The update that Buck sent to me indicated that I should expect my 110 by Wednesday before 9 PM.

I checked just a moment ago and it has arrived at the distribution center,which is less than 10 miles from home.

So,I'm hoping for an earlier delivery than Wednesday.Hooray!
 
How did you guys get the coupon? I’m subscribed to Buck’s newsletter and haven’t received anything.
