I have posted some free stuff on my blog on how to make lined straight razor scales if you are interested. You can also access some helpful stuff from my regular web site, including how to restore that straight razor of yours.

Here's one I just did. Scales are lined with aluminum and topped with Kauri from New Zealand.

Beautiful work, Bill.

Is that the swamp kauri they dig up out of the swamps, 10,000 years old or so?

For those of you that may not be aware, Bill has an excellent CD out on restoring old razors. I just got it from his website at http://www.billysblades.com/ .

Thanks for the compliment, Howard...

Yes, that's the swamp wood. It came from Gary in New Zealand. Of course, he got the wood back in different shape than when he sent it to me.

Hope you like the CD. It should keep you busy for DAYS.

Cool stuff Billy. I like the friction rides on the spine. U do that with a checkering file?

Good stuff. :)
