Hello,
Quick question for you: was the heat treatment given to the first 500 BG-42 Solutions that same as is currently given to the current ATS-34? Just curiosity, as one of BG-42s attributes is getting harder than ATS-34 while staying strong. Thanks!

Same heat treat. Basically the same steel.

BG42 is a 14-4 steel just like ATS-34, 154 cm and 14-4CrMo. It has Vanadium added for wear resistance since it was designed for use as a bearing steel. They all achieve a Rockwell of 60-62. There is no discernable difference in performance when comparing cutlery applications. The only differnece is price and surface quality.
