Stripping a Teflon coated blade

Guys, I have a Recon 1 Tanto in AUS8 with the crappy Teflon coating. It's already coming off in a few places. As I'm definitely going to be buying the CTS XHP Recon 1 I'm thinking of stripping the blade coating off the AUS8 blade.
My question is this - what is a recommended method of removing the coating?

What worked for me was using my Wenger SAK to carefully scrape it all off, then light hand polishing. The SAK blade is softer than the AUS-8. I don't believe chemicals are necessary, or desirable. Same with sandpaper - too risky to do some damage.

I second the scraping. Even a small screw driver works.

10 minutes with a copper coin and the blade is stripped. I'm going to get some polishing done to clean it up and then its done. It already looks better than the scratched and flaky blade it was.
