I hope this is okay to post, but there's an ad for a surface grinder in a local CT paper today. I have not called about it but, assuming it's in decent shape, it sounds like a great price on a nice machine. I have absolutely no connection to the seller or the machine, so I cannot answer any question about the grinder. (Also, I have no room for a big machine like this, and I just picked up one of the bench top surface grinders.)
The add in the Reminder Newspaper's on-line classified reads "SURFACE GRINDER Norton w/6x18 magnetic chuck & pwr table $300 (860)231-0609" The link is Norton Surface Grinder
I looked up Norton 6x18 lathes on Google, and it looks like they are pretty large machines. According to Anywho.com, that phone number should be in West Hartford, CT. I hope that someone on the forum can pick up a good machine at a great price. Good luck.
