Tapered Tang

None of our current models have tapered tangs. I have made many customs in the past that have had this feature. It is a matter of balance and often a strong distal taper in the blade dictates that you counter balance with a tapered tang or other methodology for reducing weight in the handle.

We like to use helium ;)

Jerry, thanks for the reply, do you think the tapered tang diminishes the strength significantly? It would seem to help Lighten the overall package.

On the contrary, a tapered tang is an excellent way to lighten a blade without losing a great amount of the blade's integrity.
