Tell Me More about TOM MAYO

I don't think we'll be seeing much in the way of good deals in the aftermarket for Mr. Mayos for awhile, after this thread.
What's not to like? Especially that Dr. Death, what a sweet design:thumbup:

I had a very short internet conversation with Mr. Mayo a couple of years ago, regarding a position I took in a discussion which he disagreed with, and I got a first impression of a man who respects others and as such, is one who commands respect himself. It was a first impression, but a lasting one.

If I were in the market for a knife in the category which his occupy, I would think Mayo first. I just love his designs, and see Mother Ocean all through them.

Tom is one hell of a fantistic human being...
He is thoughtful kind and generous...
I'm honored to call him a friend...
Oh.. and he makes some pretty awesome knives as well....

Just amazing!
Thank you Anton for ALL the great information, links, and pictures!
Also thank you to everyone who has participated in this thread!

And I think Lorien is right, this thread will definitely spark some interests amongst others.

Mayos are great knives, probably the best titanium handles in the business.

A detail of the edge on the XXL, notice how heavily convexed it is. I never saw another Mayo with such an edge profile.

Tell you about Tom Mayo -

Tom is a great guy, and fantastic knife maker. His knives have a tremendous fit/finish and lockup. I have owned quite a few Mayos and a few still reside in my collection. You need to own one to appreciate his work.

Not too many timascus handled models out there, if you want something rare, snag one of them.

Tom Mayo is a Legend and I am proud to say he is my friend..

He loves it when I post videos on his facebook page...

His knives are incredible and they appreciate in value..

He is a Cool Old Dude

Thanks to the person that shared the beautiful photos of Mayos Knives. I have to admit I would love to own one. Can I get one for sixty bucks. For get I said that. I have never seen one in person. Maybe I saw one of his neck knives made by I do not know who but it looks nice. Wished I could own one of his made by himself. But you know this old saying maybe. "No Mun, No Fun"

Beautiful knives.

this is a great thread. I just bought two Mayos (my first). I was wondering if anyone has any information on the flat handled knives.

I recently scored a Small Wharnie that should be here early this coming week! :D

I will post some pics as soon as it arrives
