I can't wait to find out what a swanny is!o_O

Charlie - a Swanny is a nick name for New Zealands and Australia's most I conic outdoor wear - The Swanndri, toy can get lots of versions but in New Zealand Country the Most Popular one is like this one pictured...

I didnt get a pic at the campsite but here I am clad snugly in my swanny. Its a few years old but as you see has a hood for bad hair contingency.

Lots of snakes in these photos. I've never seen a swanny and a snake in the same picture before. Like an ice cream in the desert.

I dont think any snake is native to NZ.
Whereas Australia has the most awesomesestest snakes in the world.!

At my house -3 and unlike dogs the biggest one has the nastiest temper:eek:.
Texans and people not from Texas camp knife owners club current membership 2.
If you want to join you need to get a name engraved on your 98 Texas knife.-there might be something about it being a birds name as well -cant quite remember or find the thread.
Anyone can join.

Good evening everyone :)

So I was lucky enough to score a #98 in Antique Autumn jigged bone the other day and it just arrived a few moments ago...So much GEC in one knife! Holy smokes! I'm not just talking about size and mass but that big beautiful clip point is something to admire, for sure.

I have a question though, and it may be a noob one at that. I noticed almost right away that the clip had a "curve" in it. I understand multi-bladed patterns sometimes crink a blade for fitment and whatnot, but neither my #66 nor my #82 stockmans utilize this method.

If you look close towards the base of the blade you can see the stock "veer off" hard to the right and from there it just keeps on curving back to square.

I tried taking photos with the frame squared up to the lens to show the curve better.

Again, my apologies if this is common knowledge within these patterns

Yeah, in a knife this size it was necessary. I spoke with Randy, the engineer at GEC, about the #98 Texas Camp Knife this year at the Rendezvous and he said this was tough one to fit together.

I had the feeling this might be the case.

Thanks for the response and easing of the mind :)

Anyone else have an aerial shot of their blades piled all neatly in their place? I'm still blown away that this knife exists haha. Love it.

I don't have an aerial pic at the moment but mine like yours is the same:thumbsup: it just an AMAZING knife isn't it?
I love it. I can deal with its size because realistically, it sits on the throne of epic GEC'ness! I knew good fit and finish from them before but I can feel the time and engineering that went into it. That alone is a respectable concept.

I'm a little late to the party. But my Tidioute Texas Cattle knife in Gabon Ebony should be here in the morning.
I am thinking it will be a very good for for my extra large hands.
