Texas definition of switchblade

The knife laws here in TX arent perfectly clear on definitions, but what I understand is that balisongs are considered automatics here even though last time I checked none of mine open automatically.

Normally that is not the case because while balisongs can be opened by centrifugal force they can not be locked in place from the force of that opening.

Overall, the bottom line is that a LEO can almost always decide to arrest you for a knife if they so wish. There's normally some element of the law in almost any area that mentions concealment of a dangerous weapon, etc. so if they really want to nab you they almost always could.
