I've been working on a couple of Texas history pieces. This is the smaller one. Knife is 1836 layer Damascus and includes nails from the house where the Mexicans met after the battle of San Jacinto. The handle has wood from the Sam Houston Oak, and brass domed pins from a harness decoration from the Sea of Mud excavation. The knife is styled after James Black's coffin handles, such as the knife found in the Sea of Mud.

This particular knife is for a customer. I have a bowie in progress from the same billet and similar historical materials.

Put some finishing touches on it last night, but finished after dark. Here's a video of the roughed out handle. Hope to shoot a clean "finished" video tonight.

Shot a good final reveal video last night. This one's a little longer, as I explain all the various historical and symbolic thematic elements. Also a cameo/photobomb by my twins.
