The "Ask Nathan a Question" Thread

The kitchen knife didn't have my name on it because I wasn't confident that it was going to be up to our standards. And that's why I don't make them anymore, despite the fact it's one of my favorites, I didn't feel we were qualified to make high-end kitchen knives in the same sense that we make the best fixed blades, of their kind, in the world.

That's kind of where I'm at with this folder. I have high expectations. Everybody does. And I'm not sure I can meet those expectations. At least not out of the gate. So I might do a folder without my name on it.

10-inch choppers

Field knives including the Fat Bastard

K20.1 wakizashi

Behemother (very low volume)

Semi-Integral dagger (low volume)

Kukri

Folder (rather than putting my name on it and making it perfect, which has been the holdup, this might be a Tanto and Rasmus Quantavious project, Big Richard Knives)

Comp chopper (low volume)

SDFK (high volume)

Brush Saber

Ah man. No skinner 😔

Put my name on it. No one will have any expectations...and it would still be better than almost anything anyone else could build.

And just think of the hordes of women who would throw themselves at me...

...Oh wait, Tina's arm will be mended by then.

Never mind.

Brush Saber?!! I’m intrigued!
I am also intrigued. I am hoping that somehow I can be in good enough financial shape to get in on that when it comes. It's been a rough stretch between a disastrously over-budget home remodel and a burglary that took almost all of my gun and sword collection and some of my knives. A Carothers brush saber sounds like it could be a nice way to restart the sword collection with a sword I could actually use. We will see. May the timing, funding, and design all align.
