Nice work, Lefty. I never thought of a wood machete sheath. Don't know why, swords and khukuris have used them for years.

Murdok, IIRC the tang continues along the spine to the butt then follows the handle contour of the butt and along the palm is about 3/4 of the blade's width.

Looking at the handle, you can see they use a solid block of wood with a sawcut to make room for the blade. I looked around for the profile I traced while the scales were off, but no luck. The shop's a bit of a pit at the moment though, so it might turn up. I'll look again tonight while I'm down there.
And yes, it is assembled dry (no adhesives) and the rivets do the work.

Horn Dog, the traditional 'limitations' of wood become almost irrelevant when epoxy and glass are thrown into the mix. The two go together like beer and pizza (I say that as I finish the last slice...)
