I love the ye olde worlde stylee of the Toothpick ..be it the Texas or Arkansas or whoever else lays claim to the design...are they the descendants of Spanish or Italian work knives? Over the years Ive gathered a few. I hope one day some new ones appear.

Powder-horn knives are a 19th Century French design that became popular all over the world. "Toothpick" is the American nick-name for that knife and a "Texas Toothpick" is at least 5" long.

It was a toothpick style that started my interest in knives and I still have a soft spot for the pattern. I was 10 or 11 when I bought a Kabar fish knife like this one at a hardware store. Four dollars was a lot of dough and I had to keep it hidden from my parents. A friend of mine found this knife to replace the one I had lost long ago.
