SWEET! A very nice find indeed. :thumbup:Hear is another 153UH Walden with the low serial number of 00023 that I acquired recently for my collection with the original box and papers that came with the knife.
This has been a good memory refreshing read from so long ago. I conjured it up after acquiring a as-new 153UH #06160. It is not a Schrade Walden but it occurred to me that it might help to bracket the Walden serials working backwards.Serial number range for the Schrade Walden 153UH so far;
00143
00220
00378
00438
00690
00773
00786
01051
01666
01857
These are all the serials we have identified to date. (03-14-15)
Can anyone help me identify my knife and year possiblyNice bit of detective work, Thank You.![]()

Hey I Have a Uncle He Ty Gold Spike from my Great uncle looks like a 70s model to me how can I tell?Ken, Dale's post tends to muddy the waters on what we have established as likely fact.....they do obviously exist, likely 2000 odd made 72/73 during the Schrade 'name transistion' period....by known serials...first likely issued in Bear Skinner brown Uncle Henry Box's unused for its predecessor the 172UH and then ""some"" had the golden Sticker 'Golden Spike' on the Uncle Henry lid pending the issuance of the new 'Golden Spike' box with gold embossed 'Golden Spike' wording....I don't post on that other Forum however I often see what we have established as fact on many Schrades through research and looking at our actual knives on this Forum, are still often erroneously speculated upon, being discussed on that Forum...I am yet to see anything revealed there on both old and newish pattern Schrade's, that we have not already established here....just my observations....and I have never discussed that other Forum previously..other Forum members have through the years....we are fortunate to have collectors of the calibre of Codger lrv, Eric , plus some from Herman Williams himself,etc posting accurate info here IMO.....Hoo Roo
