Been to Benton too, used to go to the antique shops and get deals on old knives. George Harrison’s (Beatles) sister lived in Benton, her husband was a mining engineer.

Well now I know why they have the Beatles sculpture/art alongside the highway!!

It was 11 years ago today that my granddaughter Hanna was diagnosed with leukemia. I’m happy to say she has beaten it so far and has been an inspiration to me every day. I’m still hoping that whenever I get over all of my issues I will be able to teach her how to make knives.

The ironies of life: Last week, my youngest son was moved up to starting point guard for the AAU basketball team he plays on. A few days later, he fell and broke his arm. He's definitely going to miss the next tournament, but if he heals quickly he might make the tournament after.

Time goes by to quick. I joined the army single and barely 19yo. I'm pretty much 40yo with teenage sons and a wife. Where did the years go? I retire soon and have to find a real job.

I saw the second surgeon yesterday, he will be part of the team for the surgery. They now have to coordinate a date for the surgery and let me know. Surgery should take 5-6 hours and I will remain in the hospital for 4-6 days. It should take 3-4 weeks to recover at home,

Surgery is no fun but it should be great to have the leg fixed up! Just maybe take Sharpie and mark the proper leg for 'em.

Surgery is currently set for October 6th. My medical team is one of the best in the country, so there’s a waiting list.
