What is the thickness of the BK-7 at the spine? I've got the cash and the excuse so I think one is heading my way. I know its not as thick as the BK-2.
How would the thickness compare with say a Cold Steel Carbon V SRK or a RAT RC 4? I think the RC 4 is 3/16.

Hey Shearwater....

It is right at .165...

I think (hope) you will like it!!!....

All Best...

Ethan,

Sorry to correct you but the BK-7 thickness is 3/16"(0.188"). I know the thought of going to NYC is stressing you out. ;)

I was just thinking that 0,165 is a little on the thin side...
I would love to hanlde one of these...Too bad that no one I know in Bulgaria has one... :(

I had a chance to handle the BK-7 and BK-2 together this weekend. While the BK-2 is certainly an impressive knife, I preferred the feel of the BK-7. It felt familiar generally -- maybe because of similar size and balance to a couple of other knives I own. The blade thickness seems just right too. I'd already ordered a BK-9 or the 7 would have come home with me.

You'll love it. Its nimble and cuts well, but it still has enough steel behind it to talk the combat utility talk.
