Thinking about a Damascus - Got it!

It has arrived. Got the delivery notice at work around noon, made for a long rest of the day.

Upon opening the box, my first thought was hey, I got the “diagonal” CF pattern that I was hoping for. Then I opened the knife and was a little let down. My first impression was damn, that ladder pattern is not very uniform and a little sloppy. I stared at it for a few minutes trying to decide if I was happy or not. I then put it down and kind of let that first reaction drift on. About an hour later I thought well, I’ll take the lanyard off and just spend some time with it. So I got the wrench out and opened the blade up again and upon 2nd viewing my thought was, damn that’s actually pretty unique. This is man made, not machine, and what I’m viewing is the character of the construction of the material. So after a bit of letdown, I’m actually quite fond of it and very happy with my purchase, so.....pics or it didn’t happen right?

I actually like that much better than most of ladder I’ve seen.

Thanks. It’s almost like a ladder/Spirograph hybrid. I was unsure about it when I first opened it up, but upon a closer inspection a bit later I saw it in a different way and realized how unique and special it was. It’s going straight in the pocket today and will be my EDC next week when I take the family to Pensacola Beach for a much needed vacation.

Amazing knife!

I opted for the DT Damascus since he is no longer making it. I figured I could pick up a Nichols further down the road. Basically the same reason why I got a 21.
 
Nice! Have a Devin Thomas ladder damascus 21 on the way. Already a yser so won't feel bad dropping it right in my pocket. I have a hard time being the first to use a new knife.
 
I snatched the very last left handed knife art basketweave 21 last night. I had it purchased within 30 seconds of seeing "only 1 left in stock". I was sure that I would NEVER get another lefty basketweave! The knife art one are my favorite so it's my left handed grail. I have been carrying my PJ lefty basketweave for a while now, it took forever to break the fear. I am really excited to unroll the new one and get it strait into the pocket! Pics surely to come. Damascu$ makes the collecting a bit more expensive, but damn it's beautiful.
