Well you did take the lefty mnandi, it's only right to take it's brother and not split up the family![]()
If being able to open a knife left handed is a primary need then I think a person can adjust to opening from the clip side. It's just different than you might be used to, but, then again , so is the Ti-Lock itself.
I can only assume that you are right handed. If you have a knife that has a clip swappable for left handed carry, give carrying it in your right hand pocket a try. Pretty quickly you'll discover how annoying it is to have the clip on the wrong side--then you should think about how annoying it would be to shell out $475 for a knife that you can't swap the clip on...

Ok, I'll try to clarify my suggestion. Based on what I've read the OP has stated that he would like to buy a gift of a new Small Sebenza that has a premium handle design , inlay or CGG etc. that is designed for left-handed one hand opening and closing. The OP has also stated that if he can't find one through the normal sales channels he can order one from CRK, but the time waiting for manufacturing and shipment is likely to be longer than the time frame for the timely gift. The OP has also dismissed the thought of giving a Large Sebenza as the gift. If this is incorrect then that would invalidate my suggestion.
So, in suggesting a Ti-Lock to satisfy the requirements stated by the OP it gets pretty close.
The Ti-Lock is a folder made by CRK as is the Sebenza and shares the same manufacturing excellence. It is also approximately the same size as the Small Sebenza. Although the Ti-Lock is currently only made with both handle scales stone tumbled and polished it may have more premium appeal than basic Sebenza bead blasted and approaches the more up-market CGG and inlay scales of a Sebenza.
If the timely gift requirement is a priority then Ti-Lock availability is likely to be greater than a left-handed Small Sebenza. The Ti-Lock is completely ambidextrous in opening and closing using the "studs" in the lock mechanism. The price of a Ti-Lock and a Small Sebenza with premium scales is comparable and as a gift remember it's the thought that counts.
As far as making an adjustment to the RH clip, people make adjustments all the time, think losing your hair or growing older or being married, i.e unless all you own are Chris Reeve folders with the Reeve Integral Lock on the clip side.
At the risk of sounding contentious...
The OP is looking for a LH small plain Sebenza, but is finding it difficult to procure one. With how difficult it is to find even a small plain one, he/she dismissed the idea of getting an inlayed or unique graphic one--the LH versions are particularly hard to find.
I sympathize.
I also own some other, non-LH-CRK, knives. All of them are ambidextrous with swappable clips--except for my most recent purchase of a RH CTS-XHP Military. I like it a lot, but even though the edge lasts longer than my S30V LH Military, I don't carry it at all. I only use it around the house, otherwise I have a dedicated left-handed knife in my pocket.
Hell, if somebody bought me a Ti-lock as a gift, I'd be ecstatic. I just wouldn't carry it, except for around the house.
Hehe, please buy it so I don't have to. I don't need it. Just want. I already have one and shouldn't spend the money. But it's sooooo tempting. LOL!
And I was hoping one of you would help ME out!![]()
