Thoughts on the ZT 450 (Zero Tolerance 0450)

I agree. I had all three, but the 0450 is the only one that is still part of my permanent collection. It made the other two knives expendable. The action on the 0470 isn’t close to the 0450 IMO. Actually, the 0450 is the only ZT I have in my collection.

You are dead right on the 0470 action...not so great. The knife is epic for sure...but the
flipper tab size and location are sub optimal. I will never sell mine though. Because it is
still epic. A very nice dress folder...that is still a serious blade.

It was my first ZT and probably still my favorite. It was also my first "nice" flipper I ever owned, coming from Kershaws.

My only complaint is I had to take it apart to correctly sharpen it (KME) and since it's so thick behind the edge and the factory angle was off it made it difficult.

I also would recommend the 0460ti. I always thought it was ugly but was able to grab one for a deal I couldn't pass up last Black Friday. After carrying it and breaking it in properly it's a gem too.

0460 Ti is epic. Mine was perfect out of the box. Action is excellent and it cuts like mad.
I got mine when you did. I think regular price is too much but on sale...very sweet!

I just picked up an 0450 CF model. I'm under-impressed with the action. Feels like the detent nub is riding the blade or the bearings are gunky. If I don't flick the wrist a little or really get on the flipper, it will half open. Which sounds to be not the case with most of your experiences.
Maybe I should disassemble and clean it (but its brand new)?

Using a firearm or a knife if an intruder is in your home and you feel you or your families life is in danger is the same thing in New Jersey

Absolutely disassemble and clean. There's something humming it up. This ZT is one of the few models we all agree has absurdly great action so something isn't right.

If you are not sure about disassembly, Nick Shabazz usually posts a disassembly thread for everything he ever reviewed so there's probably one on his channel.
Make sure you are putting small parts in a bottle with a magnet or something and record your disassembly because it can get confusing sometimes unless you are gifted with that sorta thing, I'm not.

All my 450s have great action, so I’d definitely either clean it or flush it out with some nano oil or whatever lighter oil you prefer. I’ve been using the Kershaw oil as of late and I’ve had zero issues.

I agree that the ZT450 is a fantastic knife. I like most (if not all) of Dmitry Sinkevich’s knives. My only gripe with it is the pocket clip, and I am not complaining about it not being deep. It just feels cheap.

I found a good milles titanium clip for the CF. Not as good on the titanium though.

Im 6'11" and have XXL+ hands and I love the 0450. At one point I had 3, whittled my collection down to just the 0450 though. Just love the all titanium feel.
