It looks nice and I never had a need for the pivot adjustment tool. Unfortunately, the texture is so slippery it’s totally impractical to use for much of anything, there is machined texture in the TI but the actual anodized coating is very slick, it’s not “chalky” at all the way some anodized coatings can be.

I’m very happy with mine. It is slim, extremely ergonomic, and capable. It’s done whatever I’ve needed it to do without fail.
As far as the pivot, needing the special tool ain’t a biggie for me. I liked the model and knew I would need it if I wanted to take it apart ever. And it’s only $20 which when considering what many other manufacturers charge for any proprietary hardware, ain’t bad at all. I haven’t had to take my 609 apart yet and I don’t see me having to anytime soon, even with the use it has gotten.
