Tip down, tip up, lock type, hole or stud, what do you like?

I'll throw in my 2 cents worth. I prefer, greatly prefer, tip up. Tip down requires too much manipulation, in my opinion, and increases the chances of a fumble.

As for grind, either hollow or flat. Really haven't found a big preference either way for folding knives.

Steel, prefer any of the good carbons. Haven't tried any of the better stainless so really don't know. I'm one of those wierdos who actually likes the patina a good carbon blade will form with years of carry.

I like either rocker locks (lockbacks) or frame locks with a slight preference to the frame locks. Haven't owned an axis lock yet but they are supposed to be real strong.

Handle material isn't a big preference to me.

I'll take a thumbhole a-la Spyderco any day over a thumbstud. My preference is actually for a flipper.

Wish this was a poll. Would be interesting to see where everyone ends up.
